Water Falling Through the Boulders

I love to paint at Ukonom Creek, a wilderness creek in far northern California, flowing from the Marble Mountains Wilderness into the Klamath River.

This painting was created on a hot summer day.  We were rafting our favorite stretch of the Klamath, and stopped for lunch at the mouth of Ukonom Creek. Most folks hiked up the creek, while I tucked myself into a shady spot where a tiny branch of the creek trickled over granite boulders.  It’s a peaceful scene you could find anywhere in the world where rock and water meet.

There’s a wonderful video of this remote wilderness setting, made by my friend Ken on Youtube. You will be touched, forever changed. It is amazing.
