Murals

Painting murals is a delightful community focus for my art.  The mural above is in Mt. Shasta, CA on the north side of the “Streamwise” building on the main street through town.  It features the  two black bears, Mount Shasta, an alpine stream  and multiple small details hidden in the design. The Siskiyou Agriculture mural covers the long south side of the County Cooperative Extension office and 4H headquarters in Yreka.  It was painted as a tribute to Steve Orloff, a well loved farm advisor, working with the UC Davis Cooperative Extension for 33 years, helping local farmers.  Click the photo for a larger view.

This bothersome bear displays his Italian heritage with preference for pilfered pizza!  Find him poking his nose out of the alley next to the Mt. Shasta Fire Station in downtown Mt. Shasta.  Click here to read the cheesy backstory in the local newspaper.

Sleeping bear is the second of three murals funded by SRCF’s Community Arts Endowment Fund. He snoozes in a tucked away corner of the Mt. Shasta Police Department building.

The twin baby bears lurk behind rose bushes in the center of Mt. Shasta.  A scavenger hunt to find all the mural bears of Mt. Shasta will yield more than a dozen beautiful bruins.

Dunsmuir visitors can find plenty to do in the surrounding area by simply standing next to City Hall and studying the Treasure Map mural. The Chamber of Commerce even has a printed guide to all the landmarks and activities.
