The Final Deduction Laelia Purpurata Orchid

Orchids! Laelia purpurata, this one. The large, incredibly lovely blossoms of this Cattelya orchid have their roots in Latin American.

The white flowers, with hints of ivory, open vibrant pink and golden yellow throats, glowing against a dramatic watercolor background.

This original watercolor painting is part of the Nero Wolfe Orchid collection. Named to honor The Final Deduction, the Nero Wolfe murder mystery published in 1961, in which Laelia purpurata from Wolfe’s rooftop orchid greenhouse visits the scene of the crime.
