My landscapes tend to be of wild places...mountains, rivers and ocean. Many are done on location, in the tradition of plein air painting. The conditions of the day become part of the work...a passing shower adds raindrop textures to the sky, the pigments are mixed with water seeping from a snowdrift, the dust of the trail embeds itself into the washes. Other paintings and prints are completed in the studio, working from photos and sketchbook studies. All scenes are of real places. I hope these images remind you of your highest places as well.
